Hello my fellow Deviants, how has life been treating you?

I just started a new semester in a new Major - Finally got to put the chapter of my failed IT studies behind me and start a new. It feels great, and along with the regained motivation at school, I've also been gaining my motivation to arts back too! This can be seen with me dabbling my toes back in the digital painting and drawing areas, as well as some continued acrylic paintings that I will post pictures of later on. My photographing has been slightly on hold lately, but since it's autumn now and the ruska colors are slowly starting to show up again, I'm going to try and spend some more time outside with my camera!

Meanwhile, I'm going to try to be a bit more active on dA, and look more into what you all have been up to, too. So if there's any specific pieces or art work that you'd like me to peek at, let me know and I'll put aside some time to give you a comment or two (and favorites even!). :)

Also if my art style could be of use for you, don't be afraid to send me a request. Drawings, paintings, coloring line art... if I can be of help with that, drop me a line!

A lot of my deviantART friends have been either cleaning up their galleries or creating new accounts lately, as their old works and profiles no longer represent who they are as artists. This got me thinking, that during the 6 years I've been a part of this site, I probably have never done a proper clean up and that it's been quite a long time since I've spent time sorting my pieces to their proper folders. Thus I wrapped up my sleeves and got to work. x_X

All I can say is that I should really do this more often. Not only because I've been a waaay too active an artist and created a whole galore of stuff in the past half decade, but, because it's nice to see your own progress. When I compare my old photographs, the very first ones I've ever put up to dA and the ones I've taken recently, the difference in skill is amazing. Same with other pieces of art. When looking, actively comparing, seeing them side by side, I can feel my own progress and actually even feel a bit proud of myself. And then there are memories. It feels funny to remember the creation process, the mood while drawing/painting/other or the moment when the shutter closed to captivate the moment in a photograph. Makes me both a bit fuzzy and amused.

Over all, I'd say I've reached a nice spot in my skills and interests, and that this is a good base to continue from!

Have you been going through your galleries lately and how did it make you feel like?

Hmm.. How's everyone doing?

Finally the slow, boring and long Summer's turning towards its end. I have to say there aren't many things I'll end up missing in it. I can't wait for the cool autumn and winter evenings, and the brilliant, beautiful fall that's already lurking around the corner. School's one fearsome beast, but unlike last year, I have spent time thinking about my possibilities and have decided to start wiggling my choices to a different direction. Keep your fingers crossed that everything will still work out well... It's already giving me a headache and I haven't even properly gotten started.

While the summer was boring and long, it wasn't a complete waste - I did do some great progress with acrylic paints and finished a huge pile of paintings. Most of which also found a new home by being sold, ordered or gifted. Outside of that I didn't really touch other mediums for my art. This has now left me with an itching to try my hand at other things too, once again. However, I'm overwhelmed by all the possibilities and can't decide what to do next: Should I pick up my pencils again? Or rather see if I can tame words into sensible pieces of stories? Maybe this would also be the perfect time for me to do maintenance to my camera and head out to see if I still got what it takes? Or should I dust out some age old, near fossil projects and see if I can finish them?

At the same time I've also been looking at pieces people have retouched or completely redone to see how much their skills have progressed. I find it fascinating and have considered doing something similar myself. Or maybe pick up one of those time line memes, where you choose works from different years and put them onto a time line to compare just how far you've moved. I think that would be a tad difficult though, considering how my interests never seem to stick around on a certain area long enough for me to create enough pieces for comparison. I did run into some of my drawings from about a decade ago.. Holy Batman, I didn't know *anything* about drawing properly. And even from earlier, when I was like 8-10 year old. Damn.

Then again, at the corner of my eyes I can see the big dragon painting, still unfinished, glaring at me and demanding attention, wanting finally to be finished so that it could move to its new and rightful home. Wish I just had better space for dealing with it. It's very difficult to process something sized 60cm x 80cm on a small table like mine. Hmm.. Maybe I can take over the kitchen table.

We'll see what the darker nights bring with them.

Cheers.

So it's the Fall. Gray, rainy, a lot of fog. Lately I've been painting a lot but now I've ran out of canvas. I'm broke so I can't buy more till next month. *sad face* Meh. I'll see about uploading some photoes of my paintings at some point. Maybe.

So now I'm staring at digital arts and sharpening my pencils and colors. Sadly I got no inspirations for those areas. Any ideas? Requests? Art trades? Anything?

Throw me something. I'm free and fiddling!

Also, for 3 first people, incase they want it, I can do a piece of art that reflects what I feel about their gallery and art.
